Some aspects of Rio de Janeiro
THE CARIOCAS
The famous nickname of those born or chose to live in Rio as per the writer Fernando Sabino born in Minas Gerais and lived in Rio used to say:
“CARIOCA, as we all know, is a state of mind: of someone who, was born anywhere in Brazil (or in the world) lives in Rio and fills the city with life".
ONE OF THE LARGEST URBAN FORESTS IN THE WORLD
There is a rainforest, right in the middle of the city, called Tijuca Forest. With over 4,200 hectares, it is possible to get in touch with impressive vegetation, lakes, fountains, historical sites, as well as be amazed by more than 200 species of birds and other animals such as capuchin monkey, agouti and dog of the bush.
THE FEIJOADA & THE CAIPIRINHA
Samba, caipirinha and feijoada is one of the most carioca’s and delicious combinations in existence. For those who don't know, feijoada is a black bean stew made with various types of pork and beef, usually accompanied by rice, farofa, braised cabbage and sliced orange. Because caipirinha and samba are known everywhere on the Planet Earth!
